Obamas Speech wuz badddd

Karl Greenfield

I disliked the speech immensely. The President did not try to sign or put down the layout for any agreement. All of the ideas about what should the countries do to stop Global Warming was for nought. The very idea that this problem should be put off for another year is horrible. If we have waited 200 years and still not come to an agreement how long do they think the Earth can wait. Never before in Human history have we delayed so much based on the principles of energy producers and users. When our President decides to decide on the will of a few energy producers and some very questionable scientific ideals and not the safety of our globe which we do indeed share with other species which did not contribute to this catastrophe. We will be signing their death warrant as well as ours. We are following the truths that few hold self evident and are doing that not on the basis of science but on the basis of the other forces that be. Can anything be done without a trillion dollar price tag in this country. He exclaims that we will raise money for the cause but did money make the Earth? Is Ford or GM more important then the habitat they are destroying? Is an overhaul of the healthcare system that funds nothing obvious, more important then the world. It appears it is. We are not the ones who will suffer immediately. That was taken care of we will find out after the indigenous, and the poor what this can do to us. But by then it will be to late. Already they are cleaning the snow from a snowstorm, probably one of the last we will have. When it rains we adapt but when it snow we put out salt hire people to clean our sidewalks and destroy any remains of winters last gasp. Is cold really so bad?

Science hmwk speech

Assembled leaders,

Everyone here is here to stop something that should have been stopped earlier. It has been tied to corruption, wars, and mainly destruction of habitats for humans and other animals. The history of fossil fuels has been plagued with violence, deception and health affects. We used fuels that had existed on earth for tens of millions of years and are depleting there abundance in fewer then 2,000. Can we let this go, yes we can. The human race is undoubtably able to survive in harsh conditions. We will make new cooling systems and build buildings resistant to heat and water damage. But is that necessary. When the global temperature has risen nearly one and a half degrees think, how much will it rise with larger, newer factories?

Ever since the 1300’s coal smoke has blackened out the sky above Manchester. People mysteriously died with black faces and clogged lungs. The crown wanted to stop the coal industry, but an even more powerful force was in support of coal mining. Coal was one of the monopolies the church had. Religion clearly one. Child labor first acknowledged when boys were forced to crawl through 2 foot high tunnels while dragging a load of coal behind them. Cave in’s were an almost daily occurrence. When the Europeans stepped on our land they wanted to tame it and bring “good will.” After cheating the Native Americans out of land we realized there was coal in Pennsylvania. Then Pittsburgh was made by a mine owner. Unions were created to help workers in there fight for a safe workplace. So you see, coal has had a horrible past, we can change that.

Oil is much the same. The current war we are waging is a fight in countries with some of the richest oil reserves. Do you think this is a coincidence?

We must not let companies own us. I am proposing that all coal powered plants be closed by next year. You may hear them say, “but we need more time,” they have had 1300 years. How much more can we give them? Needless to say they are powerful and wealthy. But isn’t this meeting between democracies? If the people say to close them then they must! Cap and trade is by far the most popular plan here; to these companies the money they need to pay will be nothing compared to there gross incomes. Unfortunately to many in America, we do not usually see the affects of pollution. That is planned! The our industrial waste is placed in the poor areas, and despite the fact that all people are equal, they have no voice.

Do not act on your benefactors wishes but the worlds. It is almost surely to late but must we be sure that we have no chance before we act? Please consider at least upgrading to oil, and from there to solar.

Moon

  • Part of moon where the satellite crashed has a wide range of temperature.
  • Humans may be able to survive without the logistics problem of transporting water.
  • Could see water molecules because they reflected off the sun light.
  • Can be broken into hydrogen and oxygen if life needs to survive on moon.
  • The amount of water on the moon is very small and it is extremely dry, it is dryer then deserts on earth.
  • Water can also lead to the discovery of methane and other more complex elements.

1st hmwk

  1. I am most exited about my exit project because I am able to choose my own project and do a project on whatever issue I am interested in.
  2. My biggest fear is that I will get bored with the topic I chose. This is my biggest fear because the project allows for so much and sometimes you think you could have done a project on a beter issue.
  3. I hope to learn about something I didn't know about previously and find out other things during my research.
  4. I want to know that I chose something that I think I can alot from. I want to research using books and not the internet so that I learn about things I wouldnt have normally found when researching a specific topic online.

I finished

I just finished thats so gd 4 me :)

Headlines/ I found 2

Jailed Fishermen Await Thaw in India-Pakistan Relations
This could be an interesting exit project. It could be interesting because it shows how regular people are affected by "relations."
In reading this article I learned a group of young fisherman are in Pakistani jails past their prison sentences because of a war.
Question I still have:
When did the war start and why?

Article: Watchdog Groups Urge Ban on Diamond Exports
This might be an interesting exit project. This might be interesting because Diamonds sell for alot of money but the places that they are taken from are poor, why is that?
I learned about a Human rights activist named Nowak I also learned that under the current president named Robert Mugabe a lot of torture is being carried out.
Question I still have:
How did Mugabe get into power if he abuses his rights.

hmwk

My first topic was the Arms Trade because it has been the cause of many conflicts. In the Irish-British conflict the Germans provided the Guns, consequently the British responded with greater force.
I learned these facts:
  • The world spends around 1000 billion dollars per year on weapons and the military.
  • Developing countries get more weapons.
  • India is the largest receiver of weapons.
  • The arms trade is very corrupt.
  • It started in bulk during the cold war.
  • The United states is one of the largest providers.
  • Armament firms complete the contracts.
  • Armament Firms get major tax breaks.
  • The U.S. used 9/11 as a cause to sell arms to other countries.
I could see this becoming my exit project because it has one of the largest affects on the global situation.
My question after reading is:
Do government leaders make money off of these deals.

My next issue is:
Biodiversity
I chose this because I am greatly interested in wildlife and especially the water.
  • Biodiversity affects how species grow.
  • Biodiversity is the range of wildlife in one area.
  • Biodiversity is negatively affected by our actions because we kill and replace species.
  • We as a race kill many species daily.
  • As we kill species we slowly destroy the ecosystems they belong to.
  • Climate Change which humans caused is a major threat.
  • Pollution affects corral reefs which affect biodiversity.
  • Many agreements have been reached but none are really being followed.
  • Biodiversity helped early humans because they had a variety of crops to choose from.
  • It is possible to expand population without harming other animals.
  • Biodiversity exists in all extremes of nature.
I could see this topic becoming my exit project because I was am interested in preserving and saving the environment.
My question after reading is:
Do we need biodiversity in our city lives?

Giggety-giggety yaaaaaaa i did it!!!

I found my password, thus resolving one of the largest global issues of all time, i wanna thank my friends family and the computer, who allowed me to share this day in glory with likeeee 3 people.

Poem

In social justice you give to get back
and the court is only one aspect of the justice you face
this justice religion has thought up
in social justice whether you're rich
or poor
you have the right to the same thing
as the man next door
you get services
for the money you
give
